Reservation Deposit
Reservations may be made via phone, in person, or email. Once your reservation is made a deposit of $1000.00 is due within 10 days of booking to secure your reservation. If you and your crew decide not to send a deposit, please notify us immediately. Upon receipt of deposit, a confirmation of reservation will be emailed. All deposits are non-refundable unless we are able to rebook the houseboat for the cancelled dates.
Departure
Before departing, full payment must be made with cash, check, or credit card. Departure must be made one (1) hour before sunset to safely ensure that the boat is secured in a cove before dark. The boat is available for check-in at 3:00pm.
Returning
The vessel must be outside of Shanghai Resort Marina for escort service at your scheduled time. The boat must be back by 10:00am on the last day of rental. If the boat is returned late, a fee of $100.00 will apply, as well as $100.00 per hour until the boat is returned.
Cancellations
If reservation is cancelled, full payment of deposit will be returned if the boat is re-rented.
Other Policies
Renter is responsible for the houseboat and all of its contents.
The houseboat is not permitted to run at night. In the case of late arrivals the houseboat must stay on the dock until sunrise.
We request that all houseboat rentals be accompanied by another motorized boat. If your crew will not be bringing a boat, we can provide a john boat for $25.00 a day. Our john boats are basic 4 person dingys. Our home marina also rents pontoons and ski boats that can be rented. This request is made because the houseboat is not allowed to enter marinas during your vacation. If for some reason you feel that you will not need to return to shore for any reason, we will waive the request for a second motorized boat.
Renters must be at least 23 years of age.
Renter is responsible for all fuel used during the rental.
Assistance will be provided as quickly as possible for any situations that may arise. However a $50.00 fee will be charged for any service call due to customer negligence.
During rental, the houseboat shall never enter any marina.
14 adult life jackets are provided. These jackets are for emergency use only, they may not be used for general use. The renter is responsible for having enough life jackets for every person on board.
We provide all linens, pillowcases, and sheets as well as cooking utensils. No towels are provided.
All renters are expected to follow all nautical codes for boating safety and responsible for assuring laws are abided.
